Customer Service Officer

Location: Echuca

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Customer Service Officer to join our Finance and Administration Team.

The role is customer-facing, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end internal sales process for the technology products and printing section of our business.

Tasks will include:

  • Quoting and receiving orders from customers and loading them in our ERP
  • Processing the order by procuring items from our suppliers
  • Reconciling delivery information
  • Invoicing customers
  • Maintaining Inventory Records
  • Directing technical queries to our sales or technical support teams
  • Coordinating the activities of our technical support team
  • Liaising with our external suppliers
  • Other admin tasks to support the broader team

The successful applicant will have:

Fitter and Turner

Location: Echuca, VIC
Hours: Fulltime

We are currently looking for experienced fitters/fabricators to join our team.

At our facility in Echuca, we manufacture conveyors, palletisers, depalletisers, packaging machines and other associated machinery. The role would involve the fabrication, fitting and assembly of this equipment, including the installation at our customer sites.

Foodmach specialises in the delivery and installation of equipment throughout Australia and abroad, which entails occasional travel and extended periods of work away from home, typically lasting up to a couple of weeks or more. To support their employees during these periods, Foodmach provides generous living away-from-home allowances.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant trade qualifications or experience in lieu
  • Experience in a similar industry
  • A willingness to learn
  • Great TIG welding skills
  • The ability to interpret drawings
  • A positive attitude and work ethic
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Some exposure to pneumatic systems

Experience in performing and leading site installations would be an advantage but is not essential.

Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

Location: NSW
Full time

We need an experienced and qualified fitter/machinist with packaging machine experience to work with our NSW team on sites across the state.

As part of our national technical support team, you will be involved in equipment installation and maintenance activities.

Additional details on the role:

The position available will suit a self-motivated allrounder who aspires to build a long-term relationship working with Foodmach.

Possible duties will include machine audits, preventative maintenance, repairs, breakdowns and assisting with project installations.

You'll be trained for the first months to be able to develop and provide sales quotes to customers to sell upgrades on our equipment as well as spare parts. 

Some initial skills required:

  • Familiarity with food industry product handling and processes: Including conveyors, palletising, and pallet handling plus a willingness to learn Foodmach systems.
  • Professionalism regarding: Trade skills, presentation, communication with customers and above all, Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Desire to adhere to the requirements of Foodmach work policy and company site rules.
  • Commitment and a “can do” attitude when faced with challenges.
  • Ability to work alone and in a small team.
  • Flexibility to work back and on weekends if required.
  • Able to travel for breakdowns and to complete customer and project expectations.
  • Attention to detail and pride in your work when carrying out service and audits on equipment.

  • An understanding of how machines are controlled to aid fault finding and process improvements.
  • Experience inspecting and repairing heavy equipment, drives, sprockets, shafts, chains, and bearings.
  • Understanding of sensors, timing, and machine speeds.
  • Understanding of the effects of levels, wear and clearances on product movements.
  • Ability to install and service conveyors and equipment, check levels clearances and transitions of conveyors.
  • Basic computer skills to put together quotes and proposals.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn and grow within Foodmach.
  • Bonus abilities: Welding, some programming and electrical knowledge, forklift, scissor-lift, working at heights, dog-man and white card tickets.

Software Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software / Control Systems Engineer to join our professional team in Echuca.

The position will be balanced with part-time home, part-time office and part-time onsite work, depending on customer requirements. 

Our new Software / Controls Systems Engineer will participate in the entire lifecycle of projects, including design, configuration, commissioning, testing and training.

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement software applications to support industrial hardware & machines.

About you 

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to problem-solving and must be able to work with a team to achieve a common goal across a broad range of software disciplines.

You will be a team player with a high level of initiative, take ownership of assigned tasks, and be able to see through to completion by prioritisation and effective time management.

Pioneering the 4th Industrial Revolution, you will work closely with your team as we design the factory and production lines of the future. 

The successful candidate will possess the following: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Computer Science (Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field).
  • Knowledge and experience in the design, installation and testing of software or controls systems.
  • HMI and PLC Programming
  • Machine Commissioning and fault finding
  • Proficient in Siemens and AB platforms
  • Preferable to have an electrical background
  • Experience with ABB Robotics would be advantageous
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to identify errors and rectify them
  • Hold a current Australian driver’s licence and be able to travel to customers' sites.   

Salary Package: $90,000 - $110,000 a year

We are currently looking for an experienced electrician to join our team.

The role would include the building of MCCs, integration with equipment and machines, wiring of field devices, I/O testing and commissioning support in our facility. Following successful factory testing, the equipment would be stripped, packed and transported before being installed and commissioned at our customer's site.

Foodmach delivers and installs equipment across Australia, so there will be some requirements to travel to and from jobs and work away from home for up to a couple of weeks at a time. 

The successful applicant will have:

  • An Electrical A Grade Licence with industrial experience in machine building or similar installations
  • Knowledge and understanding of PLC Control systems, VSDs and safety control systems (programming skills not essential).
  • Skills in reading, interpreting and marking up electrical schematics. (Experience with Eplan would be an advantage but not essential.)
  • The ability to work alongside mechanical and software teams to achieve a common goal
  • A willingness to learn and develop their skills
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

Industrial Functional Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Functional Safety Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. 

As an Industrial Functional Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable design and operation of our industrial systems and equipment.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess, implement, and maintain functional safety measures across our automation projects, adhering to industry standards and best practices. 

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, project managers, and operations personnel, to identify potential hazards, develop safety strategies, and implement risk reduction measures.

Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the safety and reliability of our industrial processes, products, and services.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting hazard and risk assessments for industrial systems, equipment, and processes in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborating with design engineers to identify safety requirements, functional safety goals, and necessary Performance Levels (Pl) and/or Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) for various industrial projects.
  • Developing and implementing safety plans, safety cases, and safety requirements specifications (SRS) for new and existing industrial systems.
  • Performing safety analyses, including but not limited to Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Designing and implementing safety-related control systems, including safety instrumented systems (SIS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC), ensuring compliance with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 61511).
  • Collaborating with project teams to review and approve safety-related documentation, including system architectures, safety manuals, and verification/validation plans.
  • Conducting functional safety assessments, audits, and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Providing guidance and support to project teams on safety-related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and changes in functional safety standards and regulations and incorporating them into organisational practices.
  • Training and educating team members on functional safety concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field). A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of functional safety standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 26262) and their application in industrial settings.
  • Experience in conducting hazard and risk assessments, safety analyses, and safety case development.
  • Proficiency in safety-related control systems, including PLC and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI).
  • Familiarity with safety-related technologies, such as safety relays, safety sensors, and safety communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of relevant software tools for safety analysis, such as HAZOP Manager or SIL Solver.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certification in functional safety (e.g., CMSE, TÜV Functional Safety Engineer) is highly desirable.
